Joy Ducree Gregory is still in shock that she is doing this show...but is excited that she accepted the great challenge presented in the beautiful musical arrangements of All Night Strut! It's been a pleasure tackling this music with such talented performers and musicians. Joy began performing in Wilmington in 2009, has been seen in numerous productions with Opera House, Cape Fear Theatre, City Stage and Thalian Association, and currently tours the Southeast with GRITS, The Musical. Joy is so grateful for her supportive husband, loving son, all-around phenomenal mother, as well as her wonderful family and friends! Thanks Chiaki and Debra for the opportunity to be a part of this "CRAZY RHYTHM!"

Shannon Playl


Shannon Playl is thrilled to be a part of this amazing show with such a talented cast!! Special thanks to new hubby, Justin Marinos, for supporting me through hours of rehearsal.  Enjoy the show!

George Domby


George is happy to be doing another show with City Stage so soon. He recently made his Wilmington theater debut as Dr. Fine/Dr. Madden in City Stage's critically acclaimed production of "Next to Normal." George has a Bachelor of Music in Voice Performance from The Ohio State University and a Master’s from Baylor University. He would like to thank Chiaki and Debra for this wonderful opportunity, and Bruce for his endless patience and tireless support. "Come on, let's strut!"

Chiaki Ito

(Music Director, Producer)

Chiaki is a graduate of NC School of the Arts, UNC-CH, Univ. of Guam and Univ. of SC.  She practices law in New Hanover County and has music directed over 80 musicals.  She enjoys participating in triathlons and spending time with her dog, Elvis.

Erik Maasch


Erik is so excited to be part of such an exciting show! He’s been seen with City Stage a few times over the past year; his last role with them was Otto in Spring Awakening. He’d like to thank Debra and Chiaki for inviting him to hit that jive with such a talented group of musicians. He would also like to thank his beautiful girlfriend and wonderful family for all of their love and support!

Who’s who of All Night Strut

Newlin Parker


After almost ten years, Newlin has become a regular part of the theater community in Wilmington, having participated in many shows, including Cats, 1776, Into the Woods,Urinetown, The Wizard of Oz, Sweeney Todd, Jekyll & Hyde, West Side Story, Chicago, Three Penny Opera, Godspell, The Drowsy Chaperone and most recently Legally Blonde: The Musical.  He has a B.M. in Vocal Music, and enjoys playing character roles.  He is excited to be a part of this creative process, and looks forward to seeing where it will go.  Thanks to the talented cast and crew and creators, and thanks to Alex for putting up with yet another rehearsal schedule! ;-)

Debra Gillingham

(Director, Choreographer)

Debra Gillingham (Director) is grateful to be back with City Stage to work with this talented cast on one of her favorite shows!!!  Thanks, Chiaki and Justin.  Her most recent projects were directing Sound of Music and choreographing La Cage Aux Folles for Thalian Association. Other credits include work with  Opera House Theatre Company, Big Dawg, Flat Rock Playhouse, Cape Fear Regional Theatre, Temple Theatre, Burning Coal Theatre (where she is a company member), Southern Appalachian Repertory Theatre, Peace College, Barter Theatre, and Theatre of the American South.   Special thanks to her husband, Bruce, and their Belgian sheepdogs, Nikki and Caleb, for putting up with her crazy theatre schedule!
