Threepenny Directors

Don H. Baker

Don H. Baker grew up in the Virginia mountains and was the Founding Director of two nationally known rural theaters (Roadside Theater, a part of Appalshop, Whitesburg, KY, and Lime Kiln Arts, Lexington, VA). He has served on the National Endowment for the Arts Theater Panel both as a panelist and a site evaluator. Until moving to Wilmington in 1995, his work focused on defining where he lived. Since here, it has shifted to here - to small roles in film (Runaway Jury, Ya-Ya Sisterhood, Soldier’s Daughter Never Cries, etc) and to some acting and directing for City Stage (Rocky three times, Sweeny Todd, Diviners, Superstar, etc). He has wanted to direct this show since 1966.
